Colorado Web Accessibility Consultants

Let us help you comply with the ADA and Colorado’s accessibility laws.

Website Audit and Compliance Reporting

We provide website accessibility audits that include both automated scans, and also manual review and human testing as required in order to ensure that your website is actually compliant with the applicable website accessibility standards.

We use the W3C’s “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines” as the standard for measuring just how accessible your website is. In the USA, there is no precise legal definition for exactly what accessibility means, but currently, when the Department of Justice brings a lawsuit against an entity, the WCAG guidelines are what the DOJ settlement uses as a basic measure.

WCAG 2.0/2.1

WCAG 2.0 is the standard used in the most recent Department of Justice settlements for ADA violations. WCAG 2.1 is a newer, more current (and more stringent) level of website accessibility conformance.

Section 508

Section 508 is a set of standards that regulate information and communication technology (ICT) that is “external” and “public facing” content, including websites. Most government entities and organizations that receive federal funding are required to comply with Section 508.

VPAT

VPATs (Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates) are statements that describe an organization’s adherence to the Section 508 standard.

Web Accessibility Training

Website accessibility can be complicated and hard to understand! We can train your team to understand what it means, and how to ensure that your website complies with accessibility guidelines and stays compliant.

About Us

Did you know? The current state of accessibility on the internet is absolutely dismal, and even in 2023, over 96% of websites have home pages with errors on them! We aim to change this.

For the past six years, we have focused on making the web more accessible for private businesses and for public entities like cities, counties, and universities. When we first started out, almost nobody had heard of web accessibility and it was an esoteric sub-specialty within the web design field, usually pushed off as long as possible in the development process, or was simply an afterthought written as a line item on a launch list.

Today, a LOT more people are talking about it, and especially with Colorado’s new website accessibility law (HB21-1110), they’re finally paying attention. That’s a good thing.

We specialize in providing website accessibility auditing, testing, reporting, and consulting to help organizations comply with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and Colorado law.

Our founder, Ron Stauffer has worked in the web development industry since 2008 and has provided web accessibility consulting for the past six years. His passion and focus is ensuring we have a free and accessible web that is open to all.
